For just $25, you can support Hawthorne Community Center’s work in the community AND put the recipient’s name on the Hawthorne Giving Tree! Who wouldn’t want to see their name permanently on the tree in our renovated lobby off of the north entrance?
You may choose to have a leaf or butterfly put on the tree in honor of a recipient this holiday season. If you don’t specify which shape you want, we’ll pick. You can also designate a star in memory of someone who has passed on.
Your gift has an impact
What does your $25 donation help fund? It goes much, much farther than you might think it does. A gift of this amount can pay for child care for one evening’s community meeting or one hour of staff time to plan, implement and evaluate activities for our older adults.
If you put two leaves, butterflies or stars on the Giving Tree, your $50 will help provide snacks for 20 children for one week!
How to get on the Giving Tree
How do you make your gift? Visit Hawthorne’s website and click the “Donate Now” button. Please make a note that your donation is in honor of a person or in memory of someone and include their name exactly as you would like it to appear on the tree. Feel free to also mail a check to Hawthorne Community Center (2440 West Ohio Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222) with a note containing the recipient’s name that you would like placed on the Giving Tree.
In 2016, we served nearly 20,000 meals to our neighbors and had almost 1,250 people participate in our programs. Your gifts help make that work possible. With your donation, you can give the present of a name on the tree and the gift of services to those who rely on us throughout the year.
